Business Activities

Cement is an important basic material that supports infrastructure of people's life, and Tokuyama's cement has earned the Company a high reputation among numerous customers both at home and overseas.

Tokuyama produces its cement at its Nanyo Plant, and then ships it to service stations (SS) located in various areas of the country for further delivery to customers.

The Nanyo Plant, with one of the largest capacities among single factories in Japan, is located at Tokuyama-Kudamatsu Port, a fine natural harbor in Yamaguchi Prefecture. The plant's development, manufacturing, and sales of cement are ISO 9001 certified, reflecting our commitment to manufacturing and providing a stable supply of high quality cement.

The primary applications for Tokuyama's cement are general civil engineering, dams and bridges, and cold weather projects. To meet the requirements of these various applications, the Company offers products ranging from ordinary Portland cement to high-early-strength Portland cement, as well as HARDKEEP soil stabilizer.

Tokuyama's cement business is the fourth-largest in Japan, after Taiheiyo Cement Corporation, Ube-Mitsubishi Cement Corporation, and Sumitomo Osaka Cement Co., Ltd. Tokuyama conducts its marketing primarily from its bases in Tokyo, Osaka, Hiroshima, Takamatsu, and Fukuoka. The Company also exports cement, principally to Southeast Asia.

In addition to its core cement-related businesses, Tokuyama operates in the building materials fields. Using environmentally friendly natural material, lime plaster, and proprietary technology, the Company manufactures and markets interior finishing materials, "Shikkui Lemarge," lime plaster sheets. It can contribute to the creation of a soft ambiance in interior spaces.
