The Specialty Products Business Division was established on April 1, 2010 to consolidate a total of eight business units, namely the former Si Business Div. (3 business units), the former Advanced Materials Business Div. (4 business units), and the NF business unit which previously belonged in the Chemicals Business Div.
One of the characteristics of this division is that it includes four business units, the Electronic materials business, the Fumed silica business, the Shapal business, and the IC chemicals business, all of which can be seen as the electronic component-related businesses, and it sells its products mainly to the electronic component field. In addition, this division has close relations with the field of solar power generation that is one of the present-day environment-related industries.
Naturally, these businesses operate globally. Especially in Asia, we are actively developing the "market-in" (market-oriented) strategy, setting up production bases and sales bases in each country.
Our every product has the functions of material essential to electronic products, and we are among the world's leading producers of them.
In addition to the above-mentioned businesses, the Specialty Products Business Division has another four business units, the Fine chemicals business, the NF business, the Precipitated silica business, and the Cleaning system business. These business units have a wide variety of advanced materials that are worthy to be called specialty products, including eyeglass-related materials and pharmaceutical bulks (ingredients) based on organic compound technologies, moisture-permeable film, a reinforcing agent for synthetic rubber and a coating agent for ink-jet printer paper, and a high-performance degreaser and cleaner.
We have production bases for these products as well both at home and abroad, and continue supplying our products globally.
In each industry related to this business division market environments are changing rapidly and competition is intense. Under such business environments we aim to make the best synergy with each other business unit and make our presence stronger in the global market. For this purpose we are making every effort to take "customer-oriented" action rapidly in manufacturing, sales, and R&D of our business operations.
The Specialty Products Business Division aims to further expand and strengthen its business under the Company's management slogan, "Venture Spirit & Innovation," filling the role of Tokuyama's profit driver and propelling force both at present and in the future.
