Reduction of Air and Water Pollutants

 

Tokuyama sets out a voluntary reduction plan for four substances that it produces, including chloroethylene, among the 12 substances subject to voluntary control in accordance with the Air Pollution Control Law. In accordance with the plan, the Company consistently implements measures to reduce the emission of these substances.


Hazardous Air Pollutants Release

FY2009 Total 22 tons (details: Chloroethylene (vinyl chloride) 8 tons, 1,2-dichloroethane 9 tons, Chloroform 3 tons, Dichloromethane(Methylene chloride) 2 tons). FY2010 Total 24 tons (details: Chloroethylene (vinyl chloride) 10 tons, 1,2-dichloroethane 10 tons, Chloroform 2 ton, Dichloromethane(Methylene chloride) 3 tons).
