In recent years new materials related to solar power generation and ecocars including hybrid vehicles have come into the world spotlight with growing interest in environmental issues among people.
Researchers and engineers of the company are required to promptly develop new technologies and new materials that meet the needs changing with the times. On the other hand, with globalization of the R&D field progressing, competition is becoming more and more intense. As a result, we are required to develop new technologies and new products more speedily, and have to clear higher hurdles in the field of R&D.
Under such circumstances, Tokuyama needs to continuously keep creating "the one and only" or "number one" technologies and products ahead of any company else in order to survive the tough global competition.
To make the Company's R&D more creative for this purpose the Research & Development Div. will accelerate R&D by further promoting selection and concentration of R&D themes, choose themes that are well-balanced from the long-term, medium-term and short-term perspectives, and promote its R&D activities steadily.
The creation of new technologies and the development of new products, together with cost reduction made by the improvement of manufacturing processes, are the eternal matters to Tokuyama, a manufacturing company.
