Tokuyama has been working steadily to serve the world by manufacturing only the best since its establishment. Research and Development is driving force behind the growth of Tokuyama.
The Specialty Products Development Dept. belongs in a business division, and it continues to develop high-value-added products by not only seeking to cultivate and improve technological capabilities that Tokuyama has built up over many years but making continued communication with customers.
Our major products are electronics-related inorganic materials which lead the world, including high-purity polycrystalline silicon, a main material used for semiconductors and solar cells, various types of silica products that have a wide variety of usages including applications to semiconductors and optics, and aluminum nitride with high thermal conductivity. We also have a lineup of high-value-added organic materials such as photoresist developer, cleaning solvents, photochromic materials, hard coating solutions for plastic lenses, and pharmaceutical bulks (ingredients).
The functions of these materials have been advancing by our controlling molecular structure, crystallization properties, purity and the state of a surface at a high level, and accordingly the range of their uses is increasing.
We not only will continue uncovering potential demand by taking advantage of synergy effects among these materials; at the same time we will make our efforts toward developing new technologies. In the area of R&D we will work on the development of the next-generation materials for information & electronics, optics, energy, and life & healthcare.
