A higher and broader perspective

Born and raised in Hiroshima, it goes without saying that I am an avid fan of the local "Carp" professional baseball team. Growing up in Hiroshima, a prominent metropolis within the Setouchi Industrial Zone, I was able to observe the manufacturing process from a front row seat. This in turn has allowed to me to smoothly transition into my job and current duties. A member of the Cement Business Division Planning Department, I am involved in a wide range of logistics activities beginning each day with the management of inventories at plants and service stations. I can say without hesitation that my work is both challenging and rewarding. Looking at my job from start to finish, I help put in place manufacturing plans, producing fine quality products, and ensure that we deliver the value that customers demand. In this regard, I am blessed with a workplace environment that provides considerable freedom while deeply respecting the wishes of each individual.

I am fully aware of the need to maintain a broad perspective. Rather than focusing on just the numbers, it is vitally important to gain a complete understanding of the picture as a whole. Taking the time to personally walk the entire shop floor, I recognize the need to experience first-hand the workplace that is constantly in motion.

Boldly attacking each challenge is also an essential attribute. Taking the initiative, I plan to take up a new post in Singapore from this year's summer. I hope to gain tremendously by grasping new opportunities with both hands.
