Notice Concerning the Establishment of Joint Venture Company
OCI Tokuyama Semiconductor Materials Sdn. Bhd.
Tokuyama Corporation is pleased to announce the establishment of OCI Tokuyama Semiconductor Materials Sdn. Bhd. (hereinafter "OTSM"), a joint venture company for the production and sale of semiconductor-grade polycrystalline silicon semi-finished products in Malaysia, as of July 8, 2025. This follows the initial announcement made on December 13, 2023.
In anticipation of growing future demand for semiconductors, Tokuyama has been working to build a production and supply system for semiconductor-grade polycrystalline silicon using clean energy. OTSM, established jointly with OCI TerraSus*, will be responsible for the production and sales of polycrystalline silicon semi-finished products for semiconductors. Through this initiative, we aim to contribute to the expansion of the advanced semiconductor market while minimizing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
A groundbreaking ceremony for OTSM is scheduled to be held on July 16 in the presence of representatives from the state government of Sarawak, Malaysia.
*OCI TerraSus: A Malaysian subsidiary of the OCI Group, a South Korea-based company.
